Chicago - the windy and um FRIGID city! I do believe I heard someone say that it was -20 when we landed at the airport. The inside of the rental car windows were literally frozen solid (FROZEN, not condensation people!). The kids rode in the car with their coats and hoods on, if that tells you anything!
So we headed to Bloomington, IL for a whirlwind and fantastic 2.5 day visit with "Uncle" Fay, Uncle John and Grandma. We arrived to homemade monkey bread (which we explained to the girls is actually called, "Love." I firmly believe this is what you get to eat when you get to Heaven.). We also had the distinct pleasure of visiting a real live ranch with horses that the girls got to sit on and feed carrots to. All went well with this venture until Emily decided to feed the pony on her own and forgot to keep her fingers tucked in. To this day she tells complete strangers that "the horsey bit me."
We are so very appreciative for Fay and John's amazing hospitality. And can Fay make a cosmopolitan, people!!!! Woot!
We love you guys lots and can't wait to see you when you come this way in November!!
